Now that Star Wars Episode VII is out, we can confidently state that we are in ‘the future.’ Despite this, the healthcare industry tends to lag behind. For instance, we still can’t replace arms (Luke Skywalker) or restore burned, limbless bodies to perfect working condition (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader).
The U.S. healthcare industry is weird. Virtually every American has health insurance in some form or another, and yet the vast majority of us don’t actually know what it does or how to use it wisely.
Do you hear that? That’s the sound of money being wasted!

There we were - sitting at the dinner table discussing our day. My wife glanced over at her reflection in the window and proclaimed, “People keep asking me if I pregnant! I recently went on a trip to New Orleans. One day the temperature was 90 degrees with a “feels like” of 106. However, because I decided not to check my luggage, bringing sunscreen wasn’t an option. So, I made sure I stayed in the shade as much as possible. I still got a bit of sunburn on my shoulders since I didn’t follow the appropriate guidelines (more on that later).
Unless you were living under a rock (or just didn’t turn on the TV, listen to the radio, browse the Internet, or talk to another living soul), you’ve probably heard that the Supreme Court finally issued its long-awaited decision yesterday in the King v. Burwell case.
